The 'Vera Avatar' is the ghost avatar form of Vera Novosi, the deceased ringleader and high priestess of the all female Junsui cult movement.  Best known on the Internet by her pseudonym, Junko Junsui — Vera presided over a chaotic alternative reality game experienced on the Internet by millions.

Frej Hedenberg and I created the look of the character from an eclectic mix of our favorite fashion designers (Wantanabe, Miyake, McQueen) as well as various science fiction tropes. Vera's unique movements were achieved by Daniel Johnson who animated bursts of our photographic stills, purposely degrading their image resolution. Future iterations, including those by Robert Simmons, used non-linear Flash animations, machinima, as well as live action RGB+D captures.

The late Czech supermodel and kickboxing champion, Kate Netolicka originally portrayed Vera, the role being taken over by Finnish actress, Vera Jordanova in 2013.
